Gypsy Nation began as a journey to reconnect with myself. I was going through a bit of a hard time believing that I had to choose between happiness and success…until I began to craft again, to draw, to write…all the things I loved. Then, I started making earrings. It started with a single pair of feather earrings that I traded for materials. It seemed that through art, through the fulfillment of being able to create something that made others feel…confident, beautiful, inspired, I was able to reconnect with myself. I was able to make a life out of doing something I loved. From there I couldn’t stop. The end result was a myriad of earrings and headbands created from the materials I gathered: feathers, beads, black coral, leather that I traded and sold, which lead to the beginning of my gypsy lifestyle. And as a lover of all things deviant and novel, and as an avid world traveler always looking towards the next adventure, I have collected an array of treasures from my life of wanderlust. Some from artisans in far away open air bazaars, others in tucked away street corners, and the rest in more local peculiar haunts; all of which I piece together to combine something to share with others, be it a pair of earrings, a headband, or a bracelet. My purpose however, is to show others that they can do what they love and make a life out of it. We do not have to choose between happiness and success. We only have to choose ourselves. So chase the wind. Dream. Explore. Discover.
