A day in the life of a player named Quik..

Real. The epitome of DJ Quik, with his candid, yet polished verses, intricately formulated beats, and casual-cool swagger, the illustrious Compton rapper delivered an informal, but genuine show Friday night at Velvet Jones that had fans crazed and in a state of rapture. With deep hip-hip roots dating back from his 1987 homemade mix tapes, the notorious DJ Quik (aka David Blake) has worked with some of the music industry’s most celebrated artists including Tupac, AMG, Kurupt, and Snoop Dogg; and become one of the most distinguished rappers the business has known with platinum selling albums and off the chart reviews.  Currently promoting his soon to be released solo album, The Book of David, Quik performed a number of old-school favorites that had viewers reminiscing about the good old days. Laugh now, but one day we'll be in charge.
