It seemed as if the entire west coast migrated to a single location this past weekend – Indio, CA to attend the 11th annual 2010 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. The infamous three-day party in the desert brought in so many more people this year that a new camping policy and ticketing system was issued, in addition to an after hours playground on the campgrounds with roller rink and deejayed swing sets included. With its largest turnout yet, the festival brought together 75,000 fans to a sold out event. Spotted with brightly colored, glowing art installations that had intoxicated individuals staring in wonder, peace-loving people, all-hour endless partying and after partying, and easy access to delectable festival fare and unlimited alcohol, Coachella provided what many would call a Utopia. With the extensive lineup and huge masses of people, I was unable to see all the bands I wanted, even with meticulous planning and my Coachella app; so I opted for the larger shows and penciled the others in when I had extra time.
See a recap of the shows I was able to catch at Ole Today.
